David Shulman Lectures on Musician Injuries in New Orleans

Loyola University New Orleans David Shulman visited Loyola University, a private university in New Orleans, to discuss musician injuries. He met with John Snyder, Chairman of the Film and Music Industry Studies, and with Jeff Albert, Assistant Professor of Music Industry Studies, College of Music and Fine Arts. Following their meetings David lectured on musician injuries to a music therapy class led by Joy Allen, Assistant Professor of Music Therapy.  Loyola Arts + Wellness Symposium April 4-6, 2016 David was also invited to speak on musician injuries at their upcoming Arts + Wellness Symposium, an event focused on the athleticism associated with global performing. This free program is open to the community. It is designed to disseminate vital research, strategies, and tools to aid students and professional performers in their creative practice.According to their website, “We plan to bring in world-renown health professionals and physiologists to speak on common performance-related physical and mental health problems, associated risk factors within the artist community, develop an understanding of preventive health strategies, and Identify health and wellness related resources available in the greater New Orleans area.”The full agenda for the Arts + Wellness Symposium breakout topics will be released over the course of the semester and updates can be found at montage.loyno.edu.
